Tasha + Lane | Bandon, OR

Tasha and Lane grew up together but hardly crossed paths, Lane a track star pole vaulter and Tasha a dedicated student who was always in the library. At their 10 year high school reunion the two re-met and bonded over their similar interests in ecology, as Tasha had begun teaching forestry and natural resources at a local community college and Lane was a biological science assistant. The connection shortly turned into a relationship.

Flash forward to the day of their one year anniversary, Lane knew it was time to make their future together official. The couple trekked up one of their favorite trails on the Oregon Coast that overlooked the ocean, and Lane cleverly set up their GoPro camera to “catch the sunset”. All of a sudden he got down on one knee and asked Tasha to marry him. And of course, she said yes!

Now with a wedding to plan, Tasha decided finding her wedding dress was a great place to start. Through online research, she discovered Charlotte's Weddings in Beaverton, Oregon and she loved the selection she saw on the website. With one dress on her wish list she had to at least try on, Tasha and her mom drove four hours to Charlotte’s. Her stylist, Melanie, provided a variety of dresses to try on and made it a very enjoyable experience. When Tasha tried on the dream dress she came to see, ‘88120’ by Justin Alexander, she immediately knew it was the one! No other dress could top its flattering fit and flare silhouette or the jaw dropping lace detail and illusion sleeves.

Months later, on August 6th of 2022, Tasha and Lane were married under a walnut tree planted by his grandparents on their family property. Tasha describes her favorite part of their wedding day was simply having all their loved ones in the same place at the same time. From her Maid of Honor and best friend since second grade flew from California, and her Bridesman traveled from Sweden to participate in the big day, it made for a surreal experience seeing everyone together. One moment that stands out to her in particular was dancing with her loved ones late into the night.

When asked to provide advice for future brides, Tasha said:

“Remember to savor every moment on your wedding day, as it goes by quickly. Also, if the idea of planning your wedding seems daunting, then consider using a wedding planning book—I found it incredibly helpful. You could certainly hire a wedding planner, but I opted for the book instead”

Congratulations to Tasha and Lane, we are so happy we could be a part of your story!
