High school sweethearts to happily ever after!

Sam and Matt met in high school after she had spent many days hanging out at rehearsals for the musical her older sister and Matt were in together. A few years later, Sam caught a huge crush on Matt, but they continued to be friends. They made it official when they began dating in 2018. He was her date to her sister’s wedding - a few years later, they would be having a wedding of their own.

Matt wanted to take it back to the beginning for their proposal. He proposed to Sam at Bald Peak State Park, the place of their unofficial first date. She said yes and the rest of their lives together began. 

Sam started the search for her dress by looking at real brides on Charlotte’s Instagram and gathering her favorites. She tried on several dresses throughout the course of her appointment and her stylist got her taste down immediately. She chose the first wedding dress she had ever tried on, Julia Leigh #5665.

When looking for venues, a family atmosphere was at the top of Sam and Matt’s list. Sam had her venue in mind several years before her and Matt’s engagement and it was everything they were looking for. The rustic feel and beautiful views made Hawk Run Estate the perfect backdrop for their wedding day. They had a bounce house, photo booth, footballs and frisbees at their reception to make for a fun time for both adult and child guests.

Wedding planning can be the most fun time and the most stressful time for a couple. Sam’s advice is to take time when planning your wedding.

“Set out your priorities as a couple and allocate your budget accordingly. This is the day you get to celebrate the bond you have with the love of your life. The wedding day doesn’t have any requirements, but to reflect your personalities and your love story.”
