Michaela + Cody’s Intimate Beachside Ceremony- Hug Point, OR

These high school sweethearts actually reconnected after high school (they even had a class together but didn’t know it until a few years later!)

It only took one trip out to the lake with friends for Michaela to know she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Cody and the timing of their love story couldn’t have been more perfect from the proposal, to their intimate beachside nuptials surrounded by their closest family and friends.

THE PROPOSAL

Cody asked Michaela to be his wife in a place that was important to the both of them...

"We had just bought our first house last year, and Cody surprised me and proposed in our kitchen after we had both gotten off work one night."

FINDING THE DRESS

Having an idea on what she was looking for, Michaela’s Pinterest board was filled with a mix of lace, sparkle, and a bit beachy! Holly (Charlotte’s stylist) pulled some gowns that incorporated a little bit of everything that Michaela was looking for and after trying on a few, Michaela had a feeling that she had found the one!

"I tried on quite a few, and fell in love with the one I picked as soon as I tried it on!"

"...Charlottes was the first place we went and I was actually planning on looking at a few other places before picking a dress but I can’t imagine having worn any dress besides the one I chose."

The Dress: Michaela wore style "5476PSW" from Charlotte's private collection, Julia Leigh; an A-line gown with a lace bodice and a soft, English net and tulle skirt.

The Wedding Day

While both Michaela and Cody were looking for something personal, laid back and relaxed, their vision ended up being the perfect fit with the restrictions in place at the time. From their friend marrying them, to Michaela and her mom putting together her floral arrangements by hand in their Airbnb the day of the wedding, the day couldn’t have been better.

“We rented an Airbnb, and since we got married on a Monday we made an extended weekend out of it. On the day of, we got ready at the Airbnb, then headed to Hug Point. We love this little beach as it typically is a little less crowded than surrounding beaches, and I love the landscape of cliffs and little caves along the ocean.”

Michaela’s favorite moment?

“I don't think I can pick a simple moment that was my favorite, the entire day was amazing as I got to marry my best friend.”

ADVICE FOR BRIDES-TO-BE?

Michaela highly recommends hiring a photographer that you love, and don’t be afraid to do a little social media stalking!

“I creeped on Hannah Brooke Photography for a while and knew I wanted her to be our photographer long before I even reached out to her, and she was perfect! We wanted the day to be as laid back and chill as possible, and she fit into that and captured our day perfectly.”

Congratulations Michaela and Cody!
