Katie + Michael | West Linn, OR

There is nothing better than a friends to lovers trope!

Katie and Michael met while going to college at Linfield College in 2014. During that time, they became close friends and began their romantic journey in 2018.

Katie’s favorite place in the world is Bend, OR, so Michael knew that was the place that he had to propose. He got down on one knee on the bridge at the Old Mill District and popped the question. Of course, she said yes!

“All of our close friends were secretly hiding in the bushes and popped out and surprised me after he proposed. We then spent the weekend celebrating with our closest friends!”

Katie started her wedding gown shopping journey at Charlotte’s. She had tried on several dresses and made her purchase. One evening, she woke up in the middle of the night and knew that her dress wasn’t the one she chose. It was the first dress she tried on that she would walk down the aisle in.

“I think that the shock of trying on a wedding dress for the first time was so overwhelming and I didn’t go with my gut on the first dress. But everyone at Charlotte’s was so kind and patient with me when I changed my mind and called the shop in a panic!”

With her stylist’s, Stephanie, help, Katie made her gut decision and said “yes” to Lillian West 66163. This lace, A line gown features a plunging illusion neckline and low back. It is the perfect gown for the romantic, boho bride.

Katie and Michael wanted their wedding to feel personal to them and, due to Covid-19, finding a wedding venue was tough as it is. The two decided to tie the knot in Katie’s parent’s backyard to ensure they got a wedding date that worked best for them and not just what was available at the venue.

Besides saying ‘I do,” Katie’s favorite part of the day was the family boat ride they took right after the ceremony.

“Our two families went out on my dad’s boat and had cocktail hour with just the 8 of us, spending quality time together as a new family. We didn’t know how much we would appreciate the break until we were out there soaking in the quality time together.”

Katie was told that your wedding day goes by extremely fast.

“It's true! Take a few moments either with just you and your partner or with your families. Take time to slow down and soak in your surroundings.”

These are the days that you will remember for a lifetime.

Congratulations to katie and michael!
