Jillian + Edwin | Oregon City, OR

The high school sweetheart story of our dreams!

Jillian and Edwin were just a couple of kids when they met in their high school theater class. They became fast friends. They completed high school without any signs of something more serious and began losing touch with one another. After several years, they reconnected in 2021. It was like they picked up right where they left off. Jillian and Edwin felt more of a spark this time around and started dating after a few weeks of dates. The universe knew they were meant for each other.

Their dream had always been to go to New York City, so for their one year anniversary, they did just that! Edwin took Jillian up 101 stories for dinner at Peak at Hudson Yards. They asked their waiter to take some photos of them just before they got dessert. Overlooking the beautiful city skyline in the background, Edwin got down on one knee. Surprised by the proposal, Jillian immediately said yes!

“After a couple pictures, he got down on one knee and pulled the ring out, gave a sweet speech and I cried so hard. He took me by complete surprise with the most amazing ring.”

After the proposal of her dreams, Jillian headed to Charlotte’s to fulfill another dream. She was matched with stylist, Melanie, to find the dress that would feel like her and match the vision she was going for. She knew she wanted a ballgown, but was not quite sure about the other elements to go along with it. Did she want sleeves, no sleeves, strapless? She was determined to find the gown that made her feel like a princess. Going into the appointment she also thought she would be going home with a Justin Alexander gown. Melanie went to work on pulling dresses that fit Jillian’s whimsical, fairytale vibe. She brought out Allure Romance ‘5506’ and it was more perfect than she could have imagined.

“My shopping experience was more wonderful than I could have asked for. Melanie was thoughtful and listened to my idea in my head and my theme of my wedding.”

Their dreamy, winter wedding was what dreams are made of. On December 10, 2022, Jillian and Edwin tied the knot at Ainsworth House and Gardens in Oregon City, OR. Their venue exceeded their expectations and fit their vision beautifully. The gardens, even in the winter, are so beautiful and perfect for a fairytale wedding. Jillian says one of her favorite moments was being able to walk down the aisle with her two brothers to the best man she could ever imagine. They shared very special vows which made for a heartwarming memory for the two of them. They spent the day surrounded by loved ones and had the most special wedding. Her greatest advice to bride would be:

“Trust yourself, believe in yourself and don't let anyone try to tell you you have to do something or shouldn't do something you want to.”

What a great sentiment from a beautiful bride.

Congratulations, Jillian and edwin!
