Dayna + Matt's Fall Winery Wedding (Dayton, OR)

HOW THEY MET

A commute between cities and the help of a dating app started the beginning of forever for Dayna and Matt!

“It's kind of amazing how we met, if it weren't for the infamous Tinder it would've been unlikely we would have crossed paths. I was a resident commuting from Portland to Salem and stopped once a week in Woodburn to get gas. Matt works in Woodburn and that's probably how we were able to connect!”

THE PROPOSAL

While some dream of an elaborate, perfectly executed proposal, Matt wasted no time in making sure Dayna knew how excited he was to start their life together as husband and wife:

“I knew what kind of diamond I wanted and Matt and I went to pick it out together. He got so excited he proposed in the store with the diamond and a temporary setting. We told our parents and friends the next day."

FINDING "THE ONE"

Dayna had done some pre-shopping pinning on Pinterest and went into the process having an idea of what she wanted.

“I visited a couple of other bridal shops but when Marj [at Charlotte’s] brought out the dress I knew that it had the details I wanted. My mom came back and we tried the dress on again before buying it. After trying it on again I knew it was "the dress".

Dayna wore a beautiful Madison James tulle, a-line gown with a plunging neckline and lace.

ABOUT THE WEDDING DAY

Dayna and Matt tied the knot September 7th, 2019 at the beautiful Domaine de Broglie in Dayton, OR; located in Willamette Valley wine country! Chosen for “it’s natural beauty and amazing wine”, marrying her best friend and spending time with their friends and family is what made the day what it was, despite the showers of un-planned moments (which also contributed to one of their favorite moments of the day!)

“My second favorite memory was that after a little bit of rain the weather cleared up and the sun peaked out perfectly for our vows.”

What advice do you have for brides-to-be?

  1. "Hire a great seamstress. I'm a curvy bride and Andrea from August Veils was THE BEST."
  2. “Don’t stress too much about the small things. Everything will come out great and there will be great things and some things you might wish you could have done differently. Despite all of the little things, your wedding day will be the best day ever!”
