Courtney and Darren met online on the dating app, Hinge. From liking each other's profiles, to meeting for the first time in person, these lovebirds instantly knew they were meant to be.

Many months later, on November 5th of 2022, Darren took their relationship to the next level! The surprise proposal happened during a much needed vacation to one of their favorite places to visit, Victoria, B.C.. The couple took some time to themselves, they relaxed and simply enjoyed each other's presence. On a snowy walk through the magical Butchart Gardens, a Canadian historic site filled with flowers grown for over 100 years, Darren got down on one knee and popped the question! Courtney said yes of course, and the couple began planning an equally magical wedding. A true dating app success story! 

Courtney describes her experience at Charlottes as a truly special day, and so much fun! In preparation for her appointment at Charlotte’s, she did some research and knew she wanted to find a dress that was simple, classy, and elegant. Courtney also knew she liked the a-line and ballgown silhouettes, and with the guidance of her amazing stylist Tara, she was able to try on a variety of dresses in styles she knew she liked, as well as a few surprises! 

Courtney was nearly in love with the third dress she had tried, but asked to see a different neckline. Tara pulled a scoop neck, full A-line dress, and the moment Courtney tried it on, she knew it was the one!

On August 26th, of 2023, Courtney and Darren were married at the beautiful Aurora Colony Vineyards & Winery in Aurora, Oregon. The venue has stunning views of the vineyards, gardens, even Mt. Hood, and perfectly encapsulates that Oregon wine country feeling! Courtney describes the venue as “absolutely lovely” and how she was in awe at the modern and classy vibe. One feature in particular was the outdoor amphitheater ceremony location, where the bride walks down an enchanting stone staircase to her guests and groom waiting at the end of the unique “aisle”. 

“The memory that stands out the most is the view from the top of the stairs and looking down seeing all the people that you love there for you” 

When asked about any advice she would give to soon to be brides, Courtney says to:

“Start wedding planning asap! The weekend after we got engaged, we already reserved the venue. I was so far ahead on my planning that I actually had a gap of time that I could just sit back and relax for a bit. We didn’t hire a wedding coordinator, so my Mom and aunt were our coordinators! They were both a huge help and we had so much fun planning together”
