Avery + Jaxon | Beaverton, OR

College sweethearts turned life partners! Sharing a love of the digital arts, Avery and Jaxon first met while they were both Emerging Media and Digital Arts majors at Southern Oregon University.

Learning more and more about one another over the years, they found a love of road trips. The two traveled to Glacier National Park during winter break of 2020 and made a stop at the beautiful Lake McDonald. Avery and Jaxon took some photos and headed to the dock to take a look at the views. To Avery’s surprise, Jaxon got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. With the lake and snowy mountains surrounding them, she said yes!

After the excitement of a proposal and a gorgeous road trip, Avery had another exciting adventure to go on - finding her wedding dress! She had the vision of boho sleeves to make for an airy and whimsical look and her stylist delivered.

“I loved every single dress I put on and was worried that I wouldn’t be able to choose the perfect one.”

Trying on several beautiful dresses made for a difficult decision for Avery, but her stylist helped guide her by asking which dress would match her dream wedding and the decision was clear. Julia Leigh ‘5707’ had the whimsy that Avery was looking for. The gown features a lace bodice that cascades down a glitter tulle skirt. The A line silhouette creates an airy and effortless look, which was perfect for Avery and Jaxon’s venue.

On August 7, 2022, Avery and Jaxon said yes to forever! Their wedding was held at Butler Barn  in Beaverton, Oregon. They knew it was their venue on their very first tour. The barn gave off the magical feel with beautiful lights and stunning views. The pies for dessert were made from the berry fields on the farm, which was a very special touch. Avery and Jaxon were surrounded by loved ones spanning from Virginia to Alaska. They had so many amazing memories from their wedding but the reception entrances done by the bridal party took the number one spot.

“Each duo had something fun prepared. The entrances ranged from a light saber battle, nerf gun war and even a dress and suit outfit switch!”

Wedding planning can seem very daunting. You want everything to be perfect, but sometimes don’t know where to begin. Avery gives brides great advice for those in her situation,

“With both Jax and I being the oldest siblings, we had no idea what all went into a wedding. I’m so glad I hired Breann with Kingsley and Co Events to help me along my planning process. She was also a life saver on the wedding day. Everything ran smoothly and all we had to do was sit back and enjoy our day! I highly recommend hiring someone to coordinate on the big day to relieve the stress. It’s your wedding; you should be enjoying it!”

She also mentions one important detail that brides may overlook. She wanted to change her last name right away, but something many of us do not realize is that it can take several months to get everything changed over. Avery invested in the NewlyNamed Box and she was able to have all of the work done for her. If you are wanting to change your last name, she highly recommends using this service.

After their wedding day, they made the big jump of moving across the country and live happily with their German Shepherd, Stark.

Congratulations Avery and jaxon!
