Anna and Soren fell into each other’s lives in Corvallis, Oregon. They both attended pharmacy school there and, after one year of friendship, the two began their love story!

After many dates and late night study sessions, they moved to Soren’s hometown in Alaska. They spent a year there settling in and falling even more in love. On their first Christmas, Anna’s family came to visit. With both of their families present, Soren got down on one knee and asked Anna to marry him. Of course, she said yes!

She made her way back to Oregon and into Charlotte’s to find her wedding gown. She knew she wanted something with lace, off-shoulder sleeves, and absolutely nothing strapless. To her surprise, she left choosing the complete opposite of her list! Anna said ‘yes’ a second time to Justin Alexander ‘Estelle’. This gown is a stunning satin, strapless ball gown with ruching on the bodice. A bow on the skirt adds a little flair, while also functioning as a bustle. She paired her gown with ‘Goddess’ by Toni Federici Veils. 

“Funny how it worked out. And I absolutely loved the veil! Honestly, it was my favorite part of the outfit. I also went back to Charlotte’s to pick out earrings and my headband as well. The staff was so supportive and totally worked around my tight timelines because I was traveling from Alaska each time.”

Anna and Soren chose Lakeside Gardens in Portland, Oregon as their wedding day backdrop. They loved the combination of an outdoor/indoor venue. Lakeside Gardens has a perfect view of the lake and is surrounded by tall, beautiful trees. The most wonderful venue for a May wedding! The two were surrounded by many of their loved ones and were lucky enough to have a clear, sunny day.

“My absolute favorite memory from the wedding was being introduced as a couple and everyone cheering and clapping. Favorite memories from the reception are dancing to Dancing Queen by ABBA. My dress twirled so well!!”

To brides worrying about other weddings and people creating expectations their wedding, Anna has great advice:

“Your wedding is only about you and your future spouse! Don’t stress about other people’s expectations and do what makes you happiest. Also, you absolutely need a Day Of Coordinator. Mine was an absolute lifesaver and took care of all the details and mishaps and made the wedding day stress free for me!”

Don’t sweat the small stuff and focus on the love between you and the love of your life!
