Alexi + Michael | McMinnville, OR

Alexi and Michael met when they were both employed at Nike, but never connected deeper during their work overlap. A year later, Alexi stopped by Nike for a shopping trip where Michael had been working reception. He checked her in and that blossomed into an eight year loving relationship.

The best proposals are the ones we least expect. Alexi had anticipated her for seven years and the holiday season had her on edge and ready. She and Michael opened their stocking together on Christmas morning and she had gotten a ring! But not the wedding kind, he had gotten her a Ring doorbell. The prank took some of the edge off of Alexi and she had not expected what was to come.

Later that evening, they went to her family’s for dinner and gifts. Alexi had one last gift from her parents.

“As I opened the present I pulled out a Shane Co. box and found the box was empty. Michael then pulled out a smaller wooden box from his sock and got down on one knee and proposed with the ring we had picked out a year prior. I was completely caught off guard and happy cried.”

Now that she had the ring, it was time for the next best “yes.” Alexi came to Charlotte’s with a rough idea of the type of dress she liked. She wanted to keep an open mind when looking and was willing to try on anything. She fell in love with Allure Romance ‘3450’ - a crepe, fit and flare gown with an illusion lace bodice that trickles down the hips. The lace detailing continues beautifully on the edge of the train.

Alexi and Michael wanted bright, modern, garden vibes for their wedding and The Bindery delivered. White walls and natural light made the greenery that they were looking for pop.

They knew their day was going to fly by, so they decided on an intimate first look. It allowed them to take in the moment and look fresh for photos. They were so excited to be able to see one another for the first time and there were lots of happy tears involved.

Being big foodies, Alexi and Michael wanted to incorporate culture into their meal by adding hints of Korean and Japanese cuisine. They were able to put aspects of themselves in every bit of their wedding and food was the ultimate touch.

What stands out most for Alexi was the overall love she and Michael felt on their wedding day. From family and friends who took the time to make the trip to Oregon to the excitement leading up to their first look.

“The emotion that builds up for the first look was crazy– so many happy tears. It’s really hard to pick a favorite part, because the whole day was truly perfect. My husband and I just felt so loved and happy we could cherish this time to be with friends and family.”

Alexi and michael, we wish you a life of love and happiness!
