So you've said yes to your dress and now it's time to find the fit for your leading ladies! Stuck as to how to start or what to look for?

Here are 5 tips when shopping for your bridesmaid dresses!

Tip #1: Leave yourself enough time so you don't feel rushed

The last thing you want to do is feel like you're rushed to find dresses, get measurements, make any adjustments, and get your bridesmaids their dresses in in time for the big day. We recommend shopping for and ordering your bridesmaid dresses 4-5 months prior to your wedding date!

Although we don't require appointments to try-on or shop for bridesmaids dresses here at Charlotte's, we do have private consultations available during the week! Our stylists can assist in recommending styles, colors, as well as taking professional measurements (which you will want to have done just like you did when shopping for your gown!)

Tip #2: Keep in mind style AND comfortability

Being Comfortable is Stylish

Style is important, you want your bridesmaids to look and feel their best on your big day, but don't forget to keep in mind comfortability as well! Are you getting married during the summer in warmer weather? Look for something with a lightweight skirt so it keeps your bridesmaids cool while also being easy to move in! Getting married in cooler weather? Opt for a long sleeve dress or a shawl/jacket in addition to their dress to keep them warm which can easily be removed as the night goes on!

Tip #3: Trouble deciding color palette?

Use the season, location, or venue for inspiration!

So Many Colors...So Where Do You Start?

With so many colors to choose from, we know it can be a difficult decision! Try taking inspiration from the season, the location of your venue, or even the venue itself!

Here's some ideas based on season or location:

Country: pastels like light blues + pinks or neutral tones like grey complement the scenery

City: Black or neutral tones like grey's + navy blues are a great choice

Fall or Winter: Darker, moodier tones like cranberry, rust orange or red, dark green, or mustard make a statement

We have many styles of bridesmaid dresses which usually come in many different colors as well! You can see our selection of bridesmaids dresses HERE as well as our color swatches in store!

TIP #4: mix it up!

Try Letting Your Bridesmaids Choose!

Have a color in mind but want to spice up the bridal party from the typical bridesmaid attire? If you know what color palette you are wanting your bridal party to dawn, let your bridesmaids choose their own dress styles (halter, off the shoulder, sequins, beading) within that color palette while also allowing them to individually show off their personalities!

Tip #5: Dress up the dresses with a gift!

Accesorize your BFF's

If you are wanting to keep your bridesmaid dresses classic and clean, you can still dress up your bridesmaids with bracelets, hair barrettes, or other jewelry!

FUN IDEA: Gift these items to your bridesmaids while getting ready as the perfect "I couldn't say I Do without you" gift for them to wear with their dresses!
