Alaina, Bridal Consultant

What is your favorite part about helping brides and working for Charlotte’s Weddings? How long have you worked here?

I love working with the brides and helping them find exactly what they’re looking for.  My favorite part of the process is deducing what their taste is and then finding that perfect dress, and creating their perfect look.  It’s so fun to watch them be “wowed” when I get it right, especially when it’s something they would never have thought to try on.  I also love watching them discover how gorgeous anyone can look in a wedding dress, because the dresses are made with so much structure and any body type can look beautiful in the right dress.

I’ve been at Charlotte’s since July 2010 and am loving every minute.

Do you have a favorite moment/story from working at Charlotte’s?

My favorite moment, so far, would be working with a gal who was worried that she wouldn’t find anything because she has unique taste and really wanted something different.  She had been to a number of different stores and felt that there wasn’t much “out there” that felt special.  After describing her taste to me, I brought in a number of different gowns and she was so surprised at how great our selection was. Krysta brings in some very unique pieces specifically for those types of brides and after her experience she was, once again, optimistic and happy.

What kind of advice would you give your brides about dress shopping?

My biggest piece of advice would be to have an open mind when shopping.  Many girls end up in dresses they never dreamed they would and are ecstatic.  As a consultant we have a good handle on our stock pieces in the store, what shapes look great on different bodies, and how dresses look on bodies vs. on the hanger.  Girls will dismiss dresses that they aren’t sure about from the hanger, and I can honestly say that more often than not, brides end up purchasing dresses they thought looked ugly on the hanger.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Charlotte’s?

When I’m not working at Charlotte’s, I have another part time job as a Youth Director and a small business called DameArtistry.  I am also a passionate snowboarder and can be found on the mountain all throughout the winter.  I love to spend time with my husband and puppy, read, cook and do anything creative.  I have numerous hobbies and am constantly trying out something new….so my creative juices are constantly flowing!
