What is your favorite part about helping brides and working for Charlotte’s Weddings? How long have you worked here?
I have worked at Charlotte’s since November of 2012 and I love it! My favorite part about any bride is watching her see herself as a bride in her dress. She has dreamt of her dress, looked at pictures, tried different dresses on, and finally, she sees herself as a beautiful bride walking down the aisle in the dress of her dreams. She sees how beautiful she is. Sometimes it’s in a dress she always knew she wanted, sometimes it is a dress she never thought she would end up with. Every bride is different! And I love seeing each bride’s reaction to her dress.
Do you have a favorite moment/story from working at Charlotte’s?
Yes I do! I have many wonderful moments working at Charlotte’s, but one in particular always stands out. I had a bride who asked for something very specific that she had been looking at for quite some time. After a couple of dresses of what she had asked for, nothing was looking the way she wanted and she wasn’t loving anything. I brought her in a dress that was completely different, and it changed everything. She loved everything about it and felt amazing in it, even though it was nothing she ever thought she would love. And then, her mom secretly paid for the whole thing!
What kind of advice would you give your brides about dress shopping?
Two things. First, be prepared to find your dress when you decide to go shopping. Many brides come in not expecting to find their dress during their appointment. When you come to Charlotte’s, you have a consultant whose job it is to find you the dress of your dreams. So be open to the idea of finding your dress during your appointment. Second, remember that it is your wedding. It is your dress that you are going to wear on your day. Pick a dress that you love. While bringing people with you for support is important, remember that it is your dress. When someone in your party says, “I would never wear that dress,” that’s okay that they won’t! Because it’s your dress, that no one else is going to be wearing.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Charlotte’s?
When I’m not working at Charlotte’s, I like to ride horses whenever I can. I have a deep love and passion for horses that includes riding, competing, and training. I love camping, hiking, swimming, and basically anything outdoorsy. I really enjoy new activities, so I’ve recently gotten into golf! Which, lets just say, is not one of my strengths yet.
