I have been working at Charlotte’s since June 2014 and I am in love with this job (If job is even the appropriate word). I absolutely love helping brides feel like a woman and comfortable on their wedding day. A wedding dress is more than just “A dress’ for some it’s a dream come true. Being a part of that life changing event in their lives is very heart warming. You feel like a friend when they leave and you got to share a very special moment with them.
Do you have a favorite moment/story from working at Charlotte’s?
Every appointment is special in its own way. It may be my connection with the bride, the family, or a sigh of relief, but whatever it is, it’s special. My favorite moments are when my brides leave and they ask for a hug after all is said and done. I feel that then I have done my job and they can leave with one less thing to stress over.
What kind of advice would you give your brides about dress shopping?
My advice would be to go shopping when you are ready to buy. If you start before you are ready to buy your gown then wedding dress shopping becomes very overwhelming and that special experience turns into more of a chore or duty that you just have to mark off your to-do list. Dress shopping should be a fun and uplifting experience. Also, be sure to come with a budget, whether you are buying your own gown or someone is for you, talk it out. It can become very awkward when you talk budget with mom or grandma in front of all your friends.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Charlotte’s?
I love to cook and making dinner every night is my “relax” time after a long day. I love to spend time with my boyfriend (Joe) and my sweet pooch Bella. I love riding on motorcycles and being outdoors at the beach or camping. I try to spend time with my friends as often as I can. I am the ultimate party planner in my group, and I am always looking for an excuse to throw a party and get all my friends together.
