I have worked at Charlotte’s since August 2014. My favorite part is helping a brides dreams come true. Some girls come in dreaming of this dress for years, some have no idea what they want! I love it when I hear that I made the process painless for them, just one thing less they have to worry about it!
Do you have a favorite moment/story from working at Charlotte’s?
Everyday is a new experience at Charlotte’s, which I absolutely love! My favorite moment so far was when I had a bride who was dreading the whole dress shopping experience, so she wasn’t too excited to come in and try on dresses. She ended up finding the most amazing dress that she loved! She looked so beautiful and confident in it that it made my heart so happy. She told me that she had a great experience and was so happy that she found her dress. It was times like that that it made it more then just a job.
What kind of advice would you give your brides about dress shopping?
Breathe! Try to relax, it’s not as scary as it seems I promise! Try to have fun with the whole process it’s a once in a lifetime experience that is meant to be special. Also, it is not unusual to find your dress on the first visit! You aren’t rushing into it if you buy the first time, and you won’t regret it. If you feel deep down that this is your wedding dress and you love it a lot, then buy it! It’s a big decision, and you want to be positive about it, but it isn’t weird to buy it right away!
What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Charlotte’s?
When I’m not working, I go to school in pursuit of my marketing degree at Portland State University. I also have a strong love for cats, coffee and Grace Kelly. If I had my way, I would be living in the 1950s!
