I have been working at Charlotte’s Weddings since February 2010. I love listening to brides’ dreams and visions for their perfect wedding, then finding a gown that will really show off their personality and fit in with what the brides have envisioned. I also love helping complete the look once the gown has been found. A veil can really change how the gown feels, suddenly it goes from amazing white dress to “wedding gown”!
Do you have a favorite moment/story from working at Charlotte’s?
I have had so many wonderful experiences working with brides, that it’s hard to pick just one. The most recent amazing moment was when a bride was describing her dream gown to me and said that she wanted a Disney princess gown. I knew just the gown she would like, and when we put it on her she was so excited and said that it was exactly what she had been imagining. It was a very special moment for all of us in the room.
What kind of advice would you give your brides about dress shopping?
Relax! Have fun! This is a very special time in your life and you should savor each moment and not stress about the little details. Also, if you find a dress you love and can see yourself walking down the aisle in, stop looking… it can become very frustrating and confusing to continue to search once you’ve found your gown. Besides, once you find your gown, you can move on to other exciting things, like picking accessories and bridesmaid dresses!
What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Charlotte’s?
When I’m not at Charlotte’s you are likely to find me hanging out with my family or doing something crafty! I enjoy sewing, scrapbooking, crocheting, and cooking. One of my favorite projects has been working with my Aunt and Granny on a family history scrapbook. I’ve been learning so much about my family’s past!
