Popular Bridesmaid Styles and Colors for 2013 Weddings

pastel bmsI’ve noticed that the majority of bridesmaid dresses that brides are choosing lately are chiffon. Most brides want to have that more relaxed, rustic feel at their wedding that is so popular this year, and chiffon is the perfect material for that! The nice thing about chiffon fabrics is that you can dress it up or dress it down, so it could work for a formal or casual wedding. It seems the most popular dress style this year is a  floor length chiffon dress with a little rouching on the bust. This style is flattering on every body type, it’s a classic and sophisticated silhouette, and it’s really comfortable! Jasmine Bridal’s B-2 style #B2078 is one of Charlotte’s Weddings best-selling styles and is a great dress for any bridesmaid! There’s a whole rainbow of color options and the dress can be ordered in knee or tea length as well as the sampled floor length.

For the bride that wants a little variety, the Dessy twist dress is a great option! You have multiple possibilities with that dress: you can have straps, strapless, halter, open back, etc. All you have to do is twist the dress to make it your own!  That way all the bridesmaids will be in the same color and same style dress, they’ll just have slightly different tops so it’s not too uniform.

twist wrap dressesNow on to color! A popular color palate this season has been different shades of green. Some brides go for the lighter sage and others like the deep forest green. Green is a great color for every season and flatters all skin tone and hair colors.  Plus, it goes with a wide variety of complimenting colors like purple, yellow, blue… the list goes on!

Another trend for colors this year is to have each bridesmaid in her own color dress. The neutral, blush and peach colors look great this way – the lighter the colors the more cohesive they’ll look. If you try to do too many bright colors it will distract the eye and you wont know where to look, and the bridesmaids might be the focus instead of the bride.

Have fun when it comes to choosing your bridesmaid dresses!  Make sure to choose something that you and your girls will love.  I know this is a cliche, but there really are a lot of dresses that the girls could wear again!!  Check out Charlotte’s bridesmaid gallery on our website and start shopping today!
