Q: I have been very frustrated lately and I feel I am being pulled in many directions. I find that my workouts are often too much work. I know I need to workout, but sometimes I simply don’t have the motivation. When do I know if I am overdoing my workouts?
- Sarah P.
A: Sarah, the most important relationship in your healthy lifestyle is between your mind and your body. Only you can listen and communicate on behalf of your body. Speak up and ask questions to your trainer at any point concerning your fitness and nutrition program. Together you can evaluate what is working and what is not working. You can only succeed on a plan, in an environment, and with people that you are 100% comfortable with. One of the main reasons why people reach and surpass their fitness goals is because they do not succumb to negative thoughts and desire. Keep your goals on your fridge, on your rear view mirror in your car, in your wallet, bathroom mirror – in places that will give you quick reminders of the goal that outweighs the journey. Read them daily. You are your own Guru, and YOU are the beneficiary of all your hard work!
