I Don’t Have 4-6 Months to Order a Dress! Now What?

I have worked with several brides lately who for various reasons did not have 4-6 months to order their dress. If that is true for you, my first piece of advice is, don’t panic! There are several options available for you to get the perfect gown.

  • You can buy a gown “off the rack”. When you buy a gown “off the rack” it means that you purchase the sample gown that we have available in our store. If you find a dress you love in a color and size that will work for you, then this is a great option. Depending on how long the dress has been in our store and the condition of the dress, there may be a discount for the sample piece.
  • Once you have found one or two dresses that you love, we can check stock with the designer. This means that we will contact the designer to see if they have the color and size of the dress you want “in stock” and ready to ship. There are no additional fees associated with getting a dress in stock with a designer and the gown will typically arrive in just a few weeks.
  • There are also rush options available. The cost and time line for a rush on your wedding gown order will vary by designer. Once you find one or two dresses you love, your consultant can explain the cost and time line for each designer in detail for you.

If your wedding is fast approaching and you haven’t found your wedding gown yet, I recommend you carve some time out of your hectic schedule to meet with a consultant. Come with some ideas and photos if you can. The consultant is there to educate you and answer any questions or concerns you might have about your time line. While not everyone is ready to make decisions in their first appointment, I have had brides choose their gown, accessories, veil, and bridesmaid gowns all in one appointment and walk away relieved and in disbelief that it was so easy and enjoyable! If you have just a few months, a few weeks, or maybe even a few days to work with, we will do our best to help you relax and enjoy the process!
