Finding accessories for your wedding gown is one of the most difficult purchases for a bride. On Saturday May 2, 2009 we will be having August Veils and beadALEX in the store to help with any of your veil, headpiece and jewelry needs.  The creative force behind Portland, Oregon-based August Veils is Andrea Hoyt.  Andrea has been in the bridal accessories business since 1996 when she opened her first store, AniA Bridal.  As the business grew, Andrea found that many of her brides complained about a lack of quality bridal headpieces.  “I got started making tiaras by helping a customer who was in tears trying to find one,” says Andrea.  “It took me all week to make one tiara because I had never done it before.  After that I vowed never to do it again.  Now it’s the main part of my business!” Andrea’s designs have been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, Wedding Dresses Magazine, and on the cover of Portland Bride and Groom. www.augustveils.com

Alex Van Pelt is the face behind beadALEX.  She has been creating craft and art projects for years, and began making bead jewelry in 1998.  The overwhelmingly positive response to her work lead her to take on custom jewelry projects and ultimately to offer her work for sale.  As it turns out, she found making jewelry much more rewarding than her job as an office manager so she made it her full-time occupation in 2001.  www.beadalex.com
