Bridal Show Bonanza

There have been so many bridal shows in the past few months and there will be many more in the future.  So, how do you decide which show to attend.  Which ones are worth your time?  Will there be any vendors that you are looking forward to meeting and getting more information from?

Having experienced the two most popular shows in the past few months, each of them has their benefits.  For example, the Portland Bridal Show that happens in January is great for fashion shows.  They have a total of 5 runway shows throughout the two day event.  It’s a great opportunity to see what each bridal boutique has to offer.  So, bring a notepad and write down your favorites.  Then you can visit those bridal boutiques throughout the venue.  Talk to them about the gowns you saw, ask questions about fabrics, ordering times, colors, etc.  It’s also a great place to look at possible wedding sites, photographers, florists and videographers and there is a lot of cake tasting.

The second show is the Bravo show.  This show is great for a more intimate and interactive experience.  This year it was held at the Embassy Suites downtown.  Each room was decorated differently to show you what your wedding reception can look like.  There was anything from a summer wedding decorated in yellow and green to  a swanky lounge in orange and white.  You can taste food and drinks from different caterers as well as cake and ice cream.  You can even get your photo taken and the pictures are printed within a few minutes.  Plus you can get your hair and makeup done and watch a fashion show all at the same time.  It’s a very fun event.  Look for it again in October.
