Charlotte’s has been in business for over 20 years and was originally started by Charlotte Shumaker out of her home with just one designer. The current location has been Charlotte’s Weddings & More since 1994.
In June of 2007 Charlotte retired and sold the store to one of her employees. In 2010 the store was completely renovated and expanded to 9 bridal suites, 8 smaller changing rooms for bridesmaids, moms and prom.
The store has and always will focus on having exceptional customer service as well as knowledgeable staff and having exclusive collections found no where else in the Northwest. The store continues to create a fun and relaxing experience for brides and their wedding party.

About the Owner, Krysta York
A lifelong Oregonian, Krysta earned a degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing and Advertising from Portland State University. After an early stint in the corporate business world, Krysta soon realized she wanted a career that better suited her passions. Her attention to detail and knack for event planning led her to pursue a career in the bridal industry.
In December of 2005 she started working as a bridal consultant for Charlotte’s and quickly found she loved her job. “Helping brides find “the” dress for the one special day that they marry the man of their dreams is such an honor.” She loves fashion, accessories, and above all else, is a hopeless romantic who believes in the “happily ever after”.
In June of 2007, she pursued her passion even further by purchasing Charlotte’s and making it her own. Krysta has spent years working to improve the level of service Charlotte’s provides and enhance the look and feel of the store. Her goal is to make Charlotte’s the best bridal store in Oregon and perhaps even the Pacific Northwest.
In March of 2012 she had her own “happily ever after” and married the man of her dreams and added becoming a mom to her resume in the same year, welcoming Liam Martin York. In her spare time, Krysta loves watching movies with her husband, playing with her son, working out, enjoying dinner with friends, wine tasting, traveling, reading, playing on the water, and most importantly spending time with her family.
